Fakeaway by Adrian Martin

Fakeaway by Adrian Martin

Chef Adrian Martin surely has been around for quite some time, starting out in kitchens at the age of 14 he has now, 12 years on, written his very first cookbook: Fakeaway. As a lover of fast food himself when growing up, Adrian decided to make it the theme of his first cookbook. He quickly discovered two problems though: most takeaways are very unhealthy and he didn’t want his recipes to be like that, and secondly he was worried about being able to recreate those flavours he loved growing up. But he kept on trying, met up with home cooks, picked up tips & tricks from working in restaurants and included some very useful tips & tricks in the first pages of his book as well.
The concept behind the book is one that I fully support myself. There are so many good takeaway foods, but more often than not it’s something you can make at home yourself and end up with something much nicer than some takeaways. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good takeaway, but there are only very few places that I believe are worth my money as they offer really good food, but a lot of them are really far from where I live.
