Ah la douce douce France! Before I ever wanted to move to Ireland (before I ever came here basically), I always thought I’d one day end up living in France. As a kid we used to go on holidays in France quite often, from Normandy to the Loire, the island of Corsica, Paris and of course: The Provence. Lavender fields as far as the eye can see, stunning village and fantastic food under that brightly shining sun: what more can you ask for?

It’s been a while since I was in the Provence now unfortunately but it’s very high up on my list for next year as I’d love to go on a bit of a roadtrip through France. But thanks to Caroline Rimbert Craig I can bring a bit of the Provence into my home in Ireland as she’s released a cook book full of recipes from the Provence.

The book first goes into some of Caroline’s own background and her family’s history and then moves on to some core ingredients: garlic, olive oil, salad & chicory, cheese, .. There’s a great variety of recipes in the books, ranging from salads to desserts. Let’s get cooking!

About the author

Caroline Craig comes from generations of fruit farmers in Provence where her great grandfather, Aimé Rimbert co-founded the wine cooperative in her family’s native village, Mormoiron.
She is the author, with Sophie Missing, of The Little Book of Lunch, The Cornershop Cookbook and The Little Book of Brunch. She also writes regularly for the Guardian.
