Marilyn Monroe week
On August 5th, 1962 the beautiful Marilyn Monroe passed away. She is one of the most influential actresses to ever grace this planet and in honor of the 50th anniversary of her passing I will be dedicating this whole week to her. This past year I did a research on how the Belgian press portrayed her between 1950-1962 (for my Master’s thesis) and I did a lot of digging into her life, so hopefully I’ll be able to shed some light on the wonderful person I believe she was.
I will be dividing the whole week into periods of her life, starting from the early years where she faced hard times and went through horrible ordeals. Then I’ll be moving on to the early years of her career as a model and actress, next up are the golden years in her film career and so on. I’ll show you guys some of my favorite pictures, quotes and movies. I know a lot of magazines and newspapers have devoted their attention to Monroe these past few months but I hope I can still contribute to her legacy by showing you my vision on the person that inspired me so much! So stay tuned for more of my very own ‘My week with Marilyn’!
